Hedge the bets when necessary

September 26, 2009 Pete Dymeck Leave a comment

This Thursday night, I hedged my bet by taking the straight bet with Ole Miss favored, and then threw Ole Miss (-8) in a four team teaser.

I got rocked a little bit last week but am looking to bounce back with a nice effort of bets.

Check out my locks of the week for this weekend, they are now up to the r ight.

Sunday Morning Blues with Steelers Times Two

stevenjaxToday is a day of redemption. It is a day of destiny. After getting hit somewhat hard yesterday, I am still up on my picks pretty good.

There is a plethora of action today and I think I set the world record for amount of teases with 8.

The only game I took straight up was the Rams beating the Redskins. Call it a gut feeling. I just hope it isn’t the italian chicken still sitting in my stomach.

I also have a few observations from yesterday:

BYU was not overrated, it is that Florida State was very underrated.

Florida survived, as did Texas, and right now they are the only two teams worthy of national championship hype in September.

Penn State is going to lose more than one game.

Terrelle Pryor is showing improvements but has some major fundamental flaws (Damn it man! Turn your waist to get more velocity downfield!).

Virginia Tech will be pretty bruised up for their showdown with Miami.

Nebraska, Miami, and Michigan are all back.

Bowling Green had a pathetic showing against Marshall.

Maryland lost to Middle Tennessee State… for the 2nd time in a row!

Yes, other than Florida State, Virginia Tech, and Miami, the ACC stinks.

Yes, other than Penn State, Ohio State, and Michigan, the Big Ten stinks.

The Pac-10 is overrated but Cal RB Jahvid Best is the best player in the nation.

Texas Tech’s Taylor Potts is actually pretty good. Better than Kingsbury.

Well, that’s it. Sit down and watch some NFL football.

Threw in a last second wager, -19 Texas over Texas Tech.

I see a romp in the making down in Austin.

I will be winning another one.

Didn’t have time to update but I took a second half bet with Oklahoma and I will be covering unless a miracle happens.

Bets, Bets, Bets, and More Bets

Saturday is about to kick off and I have placed some more wagers.

I have some straight up games in which I like California, Purdue, and Bowling Green.

I also add Penn State’s regular line (-29.5) to the tease I placed on them (-16).

Michigan at -24 is a lock also.

Heading into today, I am 10-6 after teasing Fresno State last night.

Early Weekend Picks – 4 No-Brainers to Tease

September 17, 2009 Pete Dymeck Leave a comment

HARRISJACI have been solid after a decimating first week of college football, but this week I will do my first “teasers” of the season.

Before I introduce my picks, I want everyone to realize that I am typically not a fan of teasers but I would like to cement myself right now so I jumped all over the following picks.

It is actually a 4-team teaser at -14 points.

9/17/09 – Miami (Fl.) +8 (vs. Georgia Tech)

9/18/09 – Fresno State +21.5 (vs. Boise State)

9/19/09 – Penn State -16 (vs. Temple)

9/19/09 – Southern Cal -4.5 (at Washington)

Those are some lead-pipe locks for this week’s coming games.

Miami always has fits with Georgia Tech but since I was getting +8 on the tease, I had to jump all over it.

Fresno State is better than some think, there defense is quick and explosive and it took overtime for Wisconsin to win at home versus Fresno State last week. Fresno State’s offense looked in-tune and they should have no problem covering for me.

Penn State rarely covers the spread with their weak non-conference schedule, especially since Joe Paterno doesn’t like to run the score, but it would be a devastating blow if they can not cover 16 points. I love that.

USC will trounce Washington. They may get out of the gate a little slow but I love the -4.5 I am getting with that one.

It should be a good start to the week for me.

I took a big hit in the MNF opener as the Pats won by 1.

Pats -3 1/2

September 14, 2009 Pete Dymeck Leave a comment

Had a chance to jump on an alternate line and to me it was a no-brainer.

Patriots -3 1/2 tonight, at home, in the throwback uni’s, in Tom Brady’s first game back from injury, versus the Buffalo Bills.

I would be a fool to not jump on that!
